A message of hope and support to clients with Alzheimer’s and their families

During November, designated as National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, Americans have a special opportunity to honor and support individuals living with Alzheimer’s – including those afflicted by the disease as well as the family members and caregivers who help make their lives better.

It is estimated that approximately 4.5 million Americans currently have Alzheimer’s, and millions more are indirectly affected by the disease. At present there is no cure. But with increasing awareness of the disease and its effects – and increased funding – researchers are making progress, and there is hope that we will soon know more about what causes the disease, develop more effective treatments, and eventually prevent its occurrence.

If you have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, or if you have a loved one who has the disease, you may have questions and concerns about your treatment and care options. On behalf of ResCare HomeCare, I would like to remind you that our staff is here to help. Please feel free to call on us. Whether we can use our experience and expertise to provide you with information, put you in touch with helpful professionals in your area, or arrange care and support services, we are always happy to assist you.

If you are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, our respite services can enable you to spend time away from your loved one to attend to your own needs. A certified nursing aide or direct support professional will come to your home on a regularly-scheduled or as-needed basis to provide your loved one with compassionate oversight, care, and support. Our caregivers receive special Alzheimer’s training and deliver services with understanding and respect for every client. For information about services in your area, please use the Locations option on our website menu to find and contact a ResCare HomeCare branch near you.
